Cedar Park Tendonitis and Other Sports Injury Help
Welcome to Wellness and Better Health Chiropractic P.A. in Cedar Park! We are happy to serve a wide range of patients in the Cedar Park, Leander, Jonestown, Lago Vista, Round Rock, Liberty Hill, Georgetown, Lakeway, and even the Austin area. We care for patients with all types of pain, including acute pain (which is typically of shorter duration, as with a sports injury) and chronic pain (which is normally the type of pain that can arise from chronic conditions such as arthritis.)
One of the main areas of chiropractic focus here at our Cedar Park facility is sports injury, an area of special importance to our chiropractor Dr. Tuggle since he is an avid marathon runner and understands the importance of proper treatment of and recovery from sports injury.

Sports Injuries: Our Specialty
We specialize in sports injury, which can take many different forms. Many patients come to visit our chiropractor when they experience back pain, neck pain, or knee pain. These three types of pain are common in a variety of sports injuries since sports movements will cause players to flex, bend, stretch, and jump -- all moves which may test the limits of the ligaments (the body's "shock absorbers"), the tendons, and the muscles.
When the impact of a move is harder than expected or is too fast, the back, neck, or knee will often feel pain as a result. Back pain, neck pain, and knee pain can all be treated by our chiropractor, using a combination of chiropractic techniques and massage therapy where needed.
Our chiropractor frequently sees Cedar Park tendonitis patients, who have been having trouble with one or more of the many tendons in their body. The tendons connect the muscles to the bones, thereby enabling the body to make movement like jumping, walking, running, and all the actions needed when playing sports. When a tendon becomes inflamed, it can cause pain as it pulls on the muscles, an injury known as tendonitis. We are experienced with handling tendonitis in all areas and are committed to getting our patients back "in the game" as soon as possible! We often use massage, application of ice, and prescribe strengthening exercises to help patients overcome this problem. Whether the back pain, knee pain, or neck pain is a result of tendonitis or is an isolated issue, we are ready and able to do all we can to bring about non-invasive relief of your back pain, neck pain, or knee pain.
Plantar fasciitis is another sports injury with which we often help patients. Plantar fasciitis refers to an inflamed area of tissue running from the heel of the foot all along the foot arch. This injury can cause extreme pain and many patients may not realize that it is much more than just sore feet at the end of a vigorous exercise session. Massage therapy can be a helpful treatment for this injury, and special methods of taping the affected area of the foot may also be used. Chiropractic care, sometimes in combination with massage therapy and taping, can help relieve the pain of plantar fasciitis and prevent recurring pain of this type.
Since sports injuries can run the gamut from simple muscle pulls to serious ones that cause loss of mobility, we make sure that our staff is highly trained in dealing with all types of sports injury. The earlier that you address a sports injury, the better; it is important to see a medical professional at the first sign of trouble since this can keep the injury from worsening or becoming chronic. Experienced and compassionate sports injury treatment: It's what we're here for! Call us at 512-257-2225 to schedule an appointment.
